The Winters twins, Scott and Laurie, are turning 40, and they want to invite their best friends to a party. Scott's bestie Cubby was married to Laurie's BFF Tara, until he came out of the closet, and they became bitter enemies. We also meet the mysterious neighbor, Aaron, and Scott's old crush (Tara's cousin) Gwen, who still has a hold over Scott. All of this happens as the twins are about to lose the apartment building to the bank, which they'd prefer to taking money from their mother, Maude.
