The Emperor is holding a contest to find the best physician. Stories about about the Ghost Physician, a woman wearing a mask, abound but also conflict. Meanwhile Qing Luo seeks a stepfather for her unruly son. Ye Xiudu is hunted.
QingLuo makes a deal with Ye Xiudu but is greatly biased against him, believing him to be a notorious womanizer called Ye Pianzhou. QingLuo and other physicians diagnose Xiang Ling correctly and pass the first test.
Qing Luo stitches up a wound but leaves an additional mark. Trying to leave, she and NanNan are attacked by assassins,again. Lord Censor Li admits to Qing Luo that she seems familiar, a hint to her past she has long been searching for.
Xiang Ling is cured but not before the secret behind her disease is discovered. Lord Censor Li reveals what he knows about QingLuo's past before the agree to embark for the capital. Ye XiuDu finds an excuse to catch up with them.
Ye XiuDu's name and rank are revealed almost the moment he enters the capital. Yu Zuolin continues to scheme to kill Ye HaoRan. The Ghost Physician is arrested for murder.
NanNan has troubles when attending school. Ye XiuDu advises him while trying to woo his mother into a relationship. QingLuo is torn between her feelings and trying to discern NanNan's real father.
Qing Luo begins treating the outbreak despite interference from several sides. There is a break in the case of NanNan's unknown father. HaoRan tries to reform LiuLi but she is having none of it.
Yu ZuoLin tests his enhanced soldiers against Ye XiuDu. LiuLi stops NanNan from interfering in an argument between Qing Luo and XiuDu. LiuLi is caught in a precarious position.
A marriage is decreed by the Emperor, much to XiuDu's delight. While the mansions gleefully prepare for the wedding, NanNan struggles with the idea. Li RanRan finds a way for Yu ZuoLin to escape. The Sect has its own plans.
Princess QingNian regrets saving the man in the river as he turns the tables on her quickly. Qing Luo returns to Dream Town representing WindAzure but still hopes for news of Ye XiuDu. LiuLi, HaoRan and Censor Li accompany her.
Qing Luo enlists her compatriots to test Ye XiuDu but when he can't recall their relationship she sets a scheme to help him remember. Ye HaoRan describes his brother before their family's trouble began.
XiuDu finds a familiar token and begins to recollect glimpses into his past. Meanwhile the Windazure team scheme ways to get him back while others set about revealing his identity to stir up trouble. The plague breaks out.
Due to the plague, the border is closed to those without documents. LiuLi gets documents for two couples but the situation doesn't play out the way either woman hoped it would.
Memories and Qing Luo's affection pain XiuDu but he remains steadfast, despite his regrets. WindValley continues to test the group as they attempt to harvest the flower they have been looking for.
XiuDu and HaoRan declare their fidelity after being caught in a brothel. NanNan tries to help XiuDu recover some of his memories. Shuangguan Jin charges a steep price for a favor.
