Peter Voss, a young caricaturist from Zurich, learns that, following unfortunate property speculations by his banker uncle Heinrich, he risks going to prison. To gain time, Peter decides to set up of a fake hold up of the bank, after which he will disappear until his uncle orders him to come back. The trouble is that the empty safe that Peter is supposed to have cracked was made by the Achermann firm. Now, Mr. Achermann is not only a well-known industrialist but also the father of Steffi, whom Peter is to marry in three weeks time...
