Their next case is the murder of the previously convicted Kostomarov. The owner of the cafe Olga, who saw Kostomarov's quarrel with another man, recognizes the possible murderer from a photograph. But the detective feels that she is not saying something. Soon, the woman is assassinated.

Korsakov and his colleagues find out that the man was in close contact with the director of the restaurant Renata, the wife of an elderly and wealthy businessman and scientist. Soon the woman disappears .

In a parking lot near a nightclub, Major Korsakov finds a brutally beaten girl. Korsakov and Inga learn that the victim worked in the club as a dancer. After a short romance with the owner of the establishment, the girl stopped responding to him in return, and their relationship deteriorated sharply. At the same time, investigators find out that the victim has a lover who disappeared shortly after the incident.

Gordeeva studies a website for suicides and finds out that the journalist received a letter from a person from this very website .
