Welcome to the Luangwa Valley, Zambia. With a spring in their step and excitement in the air, Luca and Melua clamber on up into their safari vehicle to set off with their guide on their first game drive in Zambia. Who knows what they'll find. Over hills, through trees - their eyes are peeled for any creatures that may cross their path. Suddenly, in the clearing, some rather tall spotted specimens. It's a whole heard of Thornicroft giraffe and their babies.

It's another marvellous day in the vast planes of the Luangwa valley in Zambia. Luca and Melua, along with their guide, have set off for another day of discovery. Today, they are looking for Wild Dogs. They may be four-legged and furry like dogs, but be careful - they are also ferocious hunters.

It's a fine, fresh day in Zambia - this morning, the safari vehicle takes a rest while Luca and Melua head out to a special hideaway. This bird hide makes them all but invisible to the animals at the waterhole. Bird hides are great places to spend time observing the natural behaviour of animals. And because all animals need water eventually, if you're patient, you'll see an abundance of fossicking creatures.

Blue skies above, and green trees below- it's a beautiful day, and Luca and Melua are in for a BIG treat - the biggest, in fact. Can you guess what it is? Elephants. The world's largest land animal. And these gentle giants of Zambia are no exception. Despite their size, their greyish-brown skin helps them blend into the tree-trunks. But when you're that big, it's not long before your cover is blown and you get spotted.

It's a beautiful day in the seemingly endless planes of Zambia, and Luca and Melua are already out and about searching for their next wild discovery. Today, they find themselves amongst large herds of a unique species of Zebra. Like other Zebra species they practice safety in number, and mill about grazing in large herds.

The sun is rising in the Luangwa Valley, and along the water's edge lies a beautiful surprise. Today, Luca and Melua are on the lookout for some spectacular looking birds called carmine bee-eaters. Luca and Melua set out early to make sure they catch them before they leave their nests for the day. Carmine bee-eaters live in large flocks along the river's edge and emerge from their burrows just after sunrise. Luca and Melua leave their vehicle with their guide, to get a better look.

Welcome to another fun-filled day in the glorious, green Zambia. Luca and Melua are up early and on the lookout for a leopard. They find one walking past. One of the most graceful and yet most ferocious predators in Africa. They are usually very hard to find, what a lucky sighting.

It's a beautiful day in the sunny, lush Luangwa valley. A region teaming with life. Today, Luca and Melua are off to see if they can find the real king of the jungle. Or should we say, queens of the jungle. These sleepy lionesses are basking with their young. Some are young males whose manes have not quite grown out yet. A group of lions is called a pride - and prides are very tight-knit family units. They need to constantly work together to stay safe, and to stay fed.

The sun is setting in the Luangwa valley and while many animals are preparing for a restful night, for our two young explorers, it isn't bed time just yet. It's time for a night drive. Nights in the bushveld are so busy with all the animals that spend the daytime sleeping and come out at night to socialise or find food.

Welcome to the wild waters of the Luangwa River. When I say wild I mean WILD. Just look at all those hippos. And keep an eye out for crocodiles. Because they're everywhere too. Today's adventure takes Luca and Melua up close to some heavy-weight water babies. First on the list - Big pink hippopotamus. Usually, it is not recommended to get out your vehicle. But lucky for Luca and Melua, their guide has many years' experience and they get a closer look.

The sun is out, the trees are a vibrant green, and a new day of discovery awaits our two young explorers. On today's agenda - some pretty noisy citizens of the savannah. They're called yellow baboons because of their yellowish-brown hair. Baboons live in large groups called a troop. The males hang about on the outside and protect the foraging females and their babies who sit on the inside of the group. If they see something they're worried about - they send out loud calls to warn the others.

Hey there, and welcome to another fun-filled day in the magnificent Luangwa valley. Its early morning and all the creatures are shaking off their feathers and fur to welcome the start of a new day. Today, Luca and Melua get up close to some rather heavy, helmeted giants. There's no wonder they're on the list of the big 5, the largest and most ferocious animals in Africa. That's right, these horned grass munchers are no gentle antelope - in fact, not even a mighty lion dares tangle with an angry buffalo.

Today's adventure takes Melua and Luca to a waterfall, but not just any old waterfall. This is one of the jewels of the African continent and it is one of the most incredible and famous sights in the entire world. The famous Victoria Falls. As Melua and Luca approach, they can hear the mighty roar of the water falling up ahead. Even when they're standing quite far away, it seems like the ground is shaking from the thundering water.
