In 2003, now 20 years after the murder of Mary Fisher, IA officer Ian Lynch investigates Eric's claim of misconduct against, now Lieutenant, Russell. Pressure from higher-ups in the department threatens the re-investigation of the murder.
In the weeks leading up to Mary Fisher's murder, Eric meets Det. Russell for the first time to press charges against Kim Decker, a former girlfriend. Russell suspects the truth is murkier than Eric reported.
