Danny is assigned to bring down Pic Rocker (Glenn Morshower), a notoriously sleazy boxing promoter known to do anything to win a fight-even commit murder. When the Feds learn that one of Rocker's boxers (El Nino Sanchez : Ray Montoya ) is willing to blow the whistle on him, Danny (posing as a fight manager) and Chance go to the boxer's fight to make contact and are forced to come up with a new plan when the boxer mysteriously drops dead. Determined to get his man, Danny decides to approach Buddha Jacks Jackson (Johnny Yaya McClain), a disillusioned ex-boxer formerly represented by Rocker who retired three years earlier after killing an opponent (McClelland) in the ring (but was that killing fixed ?). The Arnos' influence has a healing effect on Buddha, and he finally agrees to help by announcing his return to the ring and fixing his fight with Rocker in advanceon the condition that Rocker gets nailed for murder and nothing less. Chance is upset with Danny because Danny wont tell Buddha the truththat he is no longer going after Rocker for murder, just fixing fights. When he does, Buddha thinks Chance is a traitor. The rest of the family backs Chance in thinking that Danny messed up. Buddha changes camps and goes back to Rocker. But now that the fix is in, is Buddha really working for the Feds--or for himself? Rocker wants Williams to throw the fight, but he doesnt want to. Rocker threatens Williams. That is enough to arrest Rocker (for fixing fights), but Danny wants to hold off. Danny tells Buddha that Williams is supposed to take a dive in the third round. In round three, Buddha doesnt hit back and Williams cant take a dive. Leon Moore, Rockers backer , who also has connections to the mob (Dennis Kostecki), is not a happy man. Danny wants Rocker to admit that he drugged McClelland and Sanchez thus rendering them incapable of defending themselves in a fight; consequently killing them. Rocker can talk to Danny or Moore.
