The nine episodes of 'Zur See' illuminate everyday life between sea and shore on board the m/v "Fichte", sailing under the flag of DSR, East Germany's merchant shipping company. Based on real events, interpersonal problems within the crew are discussed as well as decisions and manoeuvres in everyday working life on the high seas.
