A rough behind-the-scenes look at the world of the record industry, famous pop stars and the fierce competition for the public's favor.
The marriage of a successful French artistic couple, singer Eva and her composer Maurice, is in crisis. Eva gives her interest and love to the budding pianist Filip and is determined to break up with Maurice. The latter surprises his lover, provokes an argument in his drunken state, attacks Filip, who accidentally kills him in the scuffle. Fearing a scandal that would jeopardize both their careers, Filip drives Maurice's car to the countryside, where he stages Maurice's death as a car crash. The police confirm this. But Eva and Filip begin receiving gramophone records on which Maurice's last excellent chanson, 'I'm losing you, love', is recorded, with threats.—EuroFan
