The young car racer Karel had to undergo kidney surgery. He liked the pretty nurse Alena in the hospital and he tries to win her back when she comes for check-ups. Alena is reluctant at first, but eventually accepts an invitation for dinner and a dance. Alena falls in love with an energetic young man who cannot imagine life without the excitement of car racing.
