Summaries

Helenka, a popular clerk at the village post office, is accused of embezzlement. A check reveals that she is 200 crowns short and the girl commits suicide. Her protector and friend, gendarme constable Brejcha, does not believe that the girl is capable of any crime and investigates how the theft of the money actually took place. Apparently someone stole the money from her when she turned away from her window. A new clerk after Helenka provides him with further clues.—EuroFan
