The action of the film takes place during the New Year holidays in St. Petersburg. Lieutenant Colonel Solovets and his wife Yulia will spend New Year's Eve on a ship, where the Main Department of Internal Affairs is holding a New Year's banquet, and where he is to be awarded the medal "For Valor in Service."
