A gendarmerie regiment led by colonel Yankulov arrives in a mountain village. The regiment must eliminate the partisan group. Yankulov's ideal is Hitler's Germany, where is no unemployment and there is discipline and order. The reality destroys Yankulov's illusions. Son of an illiterate peasant, former teacher, the fan of Nietzsche, colonel Yankulov must bear his moral fall.
