A 12-chapter serial that was dedicated to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and endorsed by the Boy Scouts of America finds Eagle Scouts Bobby Ford and Jim Adams being awarded trips to South America for meritorious service. But their ace pilot, Angus MacLean, can't handle a storm somewhere over South America and his leg is broken in the resultant crash.The two boys---prepared Scouts that they are---administer first aid to him and then begin a journey through the jungle to bring help. They are captured, more than once, by Mayan natives but escape. They stumble across a treasure which brings them in conflict with crooked trader Nicholas Candylos and José Pinardo and his motley band of bandits.
