Jason Brinkerhoff reveals how his mother leaving him at the age of seven has him look for picture stand-ins in going through strangers' old photographs. Family Romance LLC's star Ishii Yuichi is featured, expressing himself on the natures of reality, replaceability, and mortality. Another Japanese storyline features a monk introducing a robotic deity incarnating Lord Kannon as an AI. Traveling further to India, the audience encounters a Doctor who dresses up as Charlie Chaplin, worships him and sets up a festival for Chaplin's birthday every year. His aim is to heal his patients through laughter. The film's themes interweave as they take us around the world, from the USA around Asia to Switzerland, where a factory turns human ashes into diamonds.
