In Korea, it has been the tradition for women to live with and take care of their husband's parents. However, this traditional family arrangement is becoming increasingly rare in contemporary Korean society. While this is not a conventional arrangement, the three women do comprise a family living under one roof. It is not common for a woman to live with and take care of both her mother and mother-in-law. It is very rare in Korea and probably even rarer in other countries. Despite many trials and tribulations, this unusual family manages to carry on, never losing their sense of humor and relying on each other to find happiness. This may be the last chance to be reminded of the traditional Korean feminine virtues of sacrifice and devotion.
