In the middle of the 19th century a music teacher and his niece set out on behalf of the King of Prussia to research the origin of the world-famous Christmas carol "Silent Night, Holy Night". After traveling for a year through Leipzig, Prague and Vienna, they finally find a trace through a little boy in Salzburg.
