This film chronicles the lives of students at Bright High Middle School in Shanghai, on how Bu Lan, Zhou Jingzhou, and their classmates overcome individual weaknesses through teamwork to ultimately win the school basketball championship

This film follows the lives of students at Bright High Middle School in Shanghai. When Zhou Jingzhou, the P.E. monitor of Class 4, Grade 1, and a key player on the class basketball team, must relocate to Dalian with his family, Bu Lan, a female student, is appointed as his successor. Despite facing challenges as the first female P.E. monitor of a boys' basketball team, Bu Lan proves to be a responsible and dedicated leader. Ultimately, through Zhou Jingzhou's unexpected return to participate in the school's basketball contest, Class 4, Grade 1 achieves victory. The students erupt in jubilation, particularly Bu Lan. The film concludes with the classmates bidding a reluctant farewell to Zhou Jingzhou at the wharf.
