Meet the newest homeless man in Beverly Hills. He's two million years old, has spent most of his life in a bottle, and dresses funny even by California standards. But to "Basie" Banks (Paul Le Mat), the Hollywood hustler who found him, he's a real-life chance at riches - and true love. It begins in a dumpster, when Basie discovers "Hitch" (Geoffrey Lewis), a genie who only needs to reclaim his magic bottle to grant three wishes. Striking a deal, Basie agrees to help Hitch steal his bottle back - if the genie will help him get the girl of his dreams. From here, the magic carpet ride begins. Together, with a half-cocked Vietnam vet as their sidekick and the Beverly Hills police on their trail, they set out on an adventure greater than even Ali Baba could imagine.
