After Chennai-based Shakhti Mathur gets into fisticuffs with goons, his mother, Kamini, decides to send him to her parents' house in the country. He re-locates there, and ends up falling in love with Neelima Pandey, who is betrothed to Karan Joshi, and the only daughter of Shankar Pandey, who has total control over a town called Thiruvatchi. When Shankar finds out, he has Neelima forcibly abducted, even cancels her wedding with Karan, and decides to wed her to Bhairav.
