Fight manager Joe Pipp takes his fighter Jack "Wildcat" Saunders out west to train for his next fight as Saunders had lost his last fight because of "dames", and Pipp thinks there will be a short supply of such out west. Pipp, Saunders and trainer Snowflake, are met at the train station by June Lawson, the daughter of the ranch owner where Saunders is to train, and a dame in her own right. All the luggage hasn't been carried in before foreman Pete Hawkins is bullying "Snowflake" for being too nosy, and Saunders disposes of Hawkins with one punch. Hawkins has held up the express company and stolen $100,000 of precious gems, and has them hidden on the ranch. In order to go on a horseback ride, June inadvertently gives Saunders her father's dress boots, which contain a package Hawkins had given Lawson for safekeeping. Trying on the boots, Saunders discovers the package which contains the stolen jewels, gives it to Pipp who gives it to "Snowflake" for safe keeping. Laramie warns Hawkins to clear out, and Hawkins asks Lawson for his package and they discover that Saunders is wearing the boots. Hawkins demands the return of the package, Saunders says he doesn't have it and they have another one-punch fight. Saunders, on Starlight the Wonder Horse of course, goes riding with June and they help Sheriff Townsend capture Slim Morley, one of the gang who held up the express office. Back at the ranch, Hawkins corners Saunders, Pipp and "Snowflake", takes his package, leaves the three tied up to each other and takes June as a hostage. There will be another one-punch fight down the road.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
