Summaries

Charlie Corrado is pushing forty and still lives with his grandparents, Martin and Marion Corrado. Although he feels safe in the environment they have created for him, he spends his days and nights longing for something more out of life.

Charlie is a 'successful' Manhattan attorney, but still works in his grandfather's florist in College Point, Queens, where he will always be known as Martin's 'delivery boy'. Martin believes it is a privilege to work with the family, but Charlie fails to grasp the significance of it. Charlie's girlfriend, Katharine, is the source of much consternation between Charlie and his grandmother. Marion Corrado is a complicated woman who sees her grandson as a second chance to right the wrongs she made with her own daughter, Charlie's mother. Marion also sees the parallel between the relationship of Charlie and Katharine and that of her own relationship with her husband, Martin, and she does not necessarily like what she sees. When Charlie is forced to deal with the inevitable realities of the adult world, his life takes unexpected turns, and Charlie takes his turn at life.—Anonymous
