A Playboy's past catches up with him, when he wants to get married

After the death of his parents Suraj Dhanrajgir is left in the care of his grandfather, Dadaji. Dadaji entrusts the task of his upbringing to Mahesh but unfortunately Suraj goes out of hand and gets accustom having his way with women and alcohol. When Dadaji learns of this he is apprehensive of the way Suraj treats women and he is instructed to abstain from this behavior. Suraj meets Komal Sinha and falls in love with her but Komal will have nothing to do with him due to his errant way of treating women. Then Suraj fakes his identity and is able to attain the love of Komal but when she finds out his identity she once again leave him forcing Dadaji to convince her. Unfortunately for Suraj a child suddenly shows up claiming that Suraj is his father which throws he and Kajal's life back to square one.—gavin ([email protected])

Mr. Dhanrajgir or Dadaji (Anupam Kher) is the paternal grandfather of Suraj (Salman Khan). Dadaji is concerned about the manner Suraj treats young ladies, he just flirts with them one after another. Then Suraj meets with the girl of his dreams, Komal Sinha (Twinkle Khanna). Komal lives with her uncle and aunt (Harish Patel and Himani Shivpuri), and does not appreciate Suraj's advances. So Suraj takes on the identity of Suraj Dhanwa, a childhood friend of Komal Sinha and her family. Komal accepts him and also falls in love with him. But then the real Suraj Dhanwa shows up, resulting in the break-up of both Suraj and Komal. Komal is not convinced that Suraj will stop his flirtatious attitude, and is hurt by his impersonating Mr. Dhanwa. Suraj Dhanrajgir (Played by Salman Khan) is a rich playboy who cares about nothing except chasing girls and drinking. He meets Komal and falls in love with her, but she rejects him for his behaviour and he seeks his grandfather's help to speak to the girl's uncle and aunt. Komal agrees to marry Suraj on the condition that he must quit all his bad habits within six months. It is a difficult task for Suraj, but he keeps his word so he can prove that he is willing to change. The two lovers are happy and soon make plans for their wedding, and both famillies are excited. However, Suraj's world suddenly shatters when he finds an eight-year-old boy named Kabir waiting infront of his house and tells him that he is his son; a result of an old affair and his mother died when he was very young. Synopsis

Sooraj Dhanrajgir (Salman Khan) is a rich playboy lightening the financial burden of his industrialist grandfather Anand (Anupam Kher) by spending his riches on alcohol and women. Sooraj lives in London, while Anand lives in India.Mahesh, who has 350 ailments and takes medicine for each of his sicknesses is sent to take care of Sooraj by Sooraj's grandfather.His grandfather calls him back for some official work back home, beginning with a hotel project in Ooty. There his true character emerges as he starts running after pretty women. The first one he lays his eyes on is Komal (Twinkle Khanna). He convinces her that she is his childhood friend and sweet-talks her into falling for him. But soon she sees him for the player he is and walks out on him.

For once, Sooraj is smitten beyond infatuation and, knowing she runs a boutique in a hotel somewhere in Bombay. Sooraj goes to Bombay and goes through all the hotels of the city until he locates her. He tries his best to win her back but fails. Komal knows Sooraj is a player and doesn't like being pursued by him.Komal lives with a large family with father (Saeed Jaffery), mother (Farida Jalal), uncle (Harish Patel) and aunt (Himani Shivpuri).

Sooraj's grandfather steps in to ease the situation and asks her to marry him. Komal agrees on one condition that he would have to give up his playboy status and become straight: He would have to quit smoking, drinking and women for her to marry him. Sooraj, not quite the man he was, gives up every bad habit he has. Due to his commitment, he's admitted to a hospital for not drinking alcohol. Komal misunderstands him and tries to leave him but after knowing the truth from his grandfather that she changed him totally, she reciprocates Sooraj's love.

One day Sooraj returns home, and he finds a boy, Kabir (Aditya Narayan), claiming to be his son.Tests prove that Kabir is indeed his son. He asks his mother's name, and who raised him, he even asks how he got the location where he lives, and Kabir answers all of his questions. Sooraj doesn't even remember the mother Pooja (Namrata Shirodkar).

Sooraj tries to send him to an orphanage but fails mysteriously and the child again appears at his residence, he goes to a restaurant with him. Mahesh eventually reaches there, asks the child's name, and is shocked to find that he's Sooraj's son. Sooraj explains everything to Mahesh.

Sooraj goes to London for Kabir's education without informing his grandfather, and Mahesh gives an excuse that one of his friends is in a serious condition and he has gone to visit him. Kabir passes the admission test in a boarding school for his intelligence, and the principal of the school tells Sooraj and Kabir to come next Monday. One day, after carrying everything and packing for school, Kabir shows him a photograph of Pooja that helps Sooraj identify the woman he had a fling with for a few months.Sooraj remembers everything and repents it. He consoles Kabir on a day and spends a lot of time together before Kabir gets admitted to the school.Eventually, Sooraj brings the boy back to his home, identifying him as his friend's child to Komal.

Sooraj learns to like him and gradually, understanding his mistake, he recognizes him as his son. But Kabir does not like Komal. Kabir is unhappy to learn that Sooraj never really loved his mom.When Sooraj and Komal were out on a date, Kabir calls Sooraj on the phone as he felt hungry. Sooraj replies to him to have his dinner, brush his teeth and take a nap. Komal says that he did a good thing that he didn't cancel the date.

One day, when Sooraj and Komal's program before the wedding date was getting fixed, Kabir goes to his room and Sooraj goes after him. Kabir stops Sooraj and says that she is not like his mother, and he even adds that Sooraj never married Kabir's mother. Sooraj tries to console him that Komal will take nice care of Kabir, but he disagrees with it. Komal interrupts the conversation, and Kabir is infuriated and scolds her a lot, adding that he is discussing an important matter with Sooraj.

This enrages Sooraj and he slaps Kabir, calling him an insolent boy. Sooraj finds out that Komal is also disturbed and tells him that Kabir is a nuisance in their relationship. Meanwhile, at the same time, Kabir calls her on the phone, seeks forgiveness from Komal, and tells her that he'll never do this again to her. They soon reconcile after Komal tells Sooraj that Kabir was seeking forgiveness from her.Sooraj is in a fix: he loves Komal and Kabir both. But he knows that both cannot live together unless he resolves the situation.

Later Sooraj knows that he has to choose between Komal and Kabir. Sooraj is about marry Komal, but he knows that he cannot hide the fact that Kabir is his son. He falls into a dilemma. His friend Mahesh (Johnny Lever) suggests he should tell the truth to Komal about Kabir before their marriage if he really loves her. He tries several times to speak to Komal about Kabir, but circumstances do not allow him to convey his message.

The day on which Sooraj and Komal are to get married, he lands at her house before inauguration with his grandfather, Mahesh and Kabir. He accepts his mistakes that he made in life and tells Komal and her family that Kabir is his son. On hearing this Komal's family gets angry and demands Sooraj disown Kabir if he wants to marry Komal. Sooraj refuses to do that and prefers his son over his love.

Komal hails Sooraj's honesty and agrees to accept Kabir as her son and to marry Sooraj. During the wedding, a boy who is dressed like Kabir claims that he's Kapil, Sooraj's other son, but it is revealed that Mahesh sent the unknown child for some reason.
