The "Weird Al" moniker was added in college since he was not the typical Cal Poly architecture student. The "My Bologna" parody of "My Sharona" was written in a studio restroom. Michael Jackson loved Al's "Eat It" version of "Beat It". Then in 2018 fans would raise $40,000 to promote a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the outcast who never fit in.
