On Christmas Eve, Fritz Münzinger, Walter Richter and Andreas 'Andi' Schneider, wearing Santa suits, are arrested for breaking into an apartment, yet deny belonging to the 'Santa robbers gang' which has been striking all over the Bavarian town, but seem not agile enough and drive rivaling police detectives Schmidt and Karolin Bremer, the commissioner on duty with an impatient family, to despair with their endless, confused story what actually happened. Unemployed gambling-addicted wheeler-dealer Andi pawned one of fiancee Monika's heirlooms, and cost buddies Walter and Fritz a long-awaited curling victory to pay off a bookie. Gifted vet Walter never told wife Maria and rich Salzburg 'fiancee' heiress Veronika Maurer about each-other.
