Terror breached the border fence and unleashed violence on the unsuspecting people in its rawest form. It is a stark portrayal of the experiences of those who survived and those who didn't. The film meticulously reconstructs the events, capturing the raw emotions and heroism that emerged.
In 2023, the Israeli Nova Tribe teamed up with the Brazilian international festival Universo Parallelo, promising 24 hours of a trance music festival. It was supposed to be their biggest nature festival, celebrating peace, freedom, and love. When the sun rose on October 7, while the crowd danced with joy and passion, it was the customary time to take psychedelic drugs that are an integral part of the experience. The sunrise is the party's climax, a spiritual and physical ascension when the mind spins and the drug "rises." And that was precisely the time when the fantasy shattered. A barrage of rockets from Gaza interrupted the music, which was replaced by urgent warnings from the festival organizers about a missile alert. Confusion turned to terror as gunfire erupted amid the chaos. The festival, a haven of tolerance and acceptance, became a scene of unimaginable horror when Hamas terrorists, using the rocket attacks as a diversion, breached the border and began massacring the festival-goers. Three hundred sixty were murdered, 40 were kidnapped in Gaza, and hundreds were injured. The festival, intended to be a haven of music and unity, suffered the cruelest fate in what became the bloodiest morning in Israel's history. However, midst the senseless violence, survival itself was an act of heroism, and there were even those who risked and sacrificed their lives to save others. These acts of bravery offered a glimmer of light in the overwhelming darkness. In a world where there is a struggle between the liberal and the fundamentalist, between truth and fake, and between good and evil, this film commemorates the values represented at this music festival. The film consists solely of the point of view of those who participated in the festival; they are the film's heroes. Each of them shares the trauma they experienced and her and his personal survival story. Those who managed to escape with resourcefulness and courage, those who hid for many hours, or those who escaped from the shelter that turned into a death trap. Through their point of view, we also hear about those who paid with their lives and those who were kidnapped, who Hamas still holds in Gaza, and their fate is unknown.Through personal video recordings of mobile devices collected from the participants of the party, voice messages, surveillance cameras, and also body cameras of Hamas terrorists, they will be connected to one piece that will tell one comprehensive story about the morning of October 7.This film meticulously reconstructs the horrifying events, capturing the raw emotions and heroism. It's a story that needs to be told to honor the fallen's memory, challenge the darkness with light, and reaffirm our unwavering belief in hope, unity, and the enduring human spirit.
