BET will dive deeps into the rich world surrounding HBCUs through the lens of one of the most important times of the year: Homecoming. Each school brings something important and singular to black history and black culture: the football game brings glory, the tailgate brings fellowship, Greek life and strolling represent a lasting generational connection, and the week as a whole represents the significance of black dollars and economic empowerment to the small cities in which the universities exist. Hosted by Jasmine Love, BET will hit the road visiting several HBCUs, and focus on different aspects of the annual celebration through the lens of both students, alumni, and city officials. We will tell each unique story and gain a deep understanding of why these schools own homecoming in their own unique way.
