A lonely old man creates a medicine to awaken those who fall asleep in a lethargic sleep.
In a new world where people cannot sleep more than two hours, everyone survives as best they can, and armed gangs create complete lawlessness. One of the most valuable commodities was "sleepers"-people who fell asleep but remained alive. In the remote steppe lives a lonely grandfather Ivan, whose granddaughter Anna was stolen in order to turn her into such a commodity. The old man practically does not communicate with anyone and in his rickety hut he is trying to create a medicine that will wake up those who have fallen asleep forever. One day, while exchanging food with the new bandits, he notices among the "sleeping" a girl very similar to the missing Anna.
