Voyeur is the story of a young man named Ethan. After experiencing a traumatic childhood involving being molested by his uncle and witnessing his parents' divorce, his young adult life becomes even more confusing as he struggles to sift his feelings for his best friend and himself.Ethan, his mother, Stephanie, and sister, Sarah, all run into disagreements and arguments while sitting in John, their dad and ex-husband's, hospice room as he lies in bed in a coma. Ethan storms out and has his best friend, Parker, come and pick up him.At Parker's house, she asks the question why Ethan and his family never get along to which Ethan responds "we just never have...not since the divorce." Ethan also reveals to Parker he wants to leave his hometown and never come back but doesn't know if it's the right thing to do.The next day, Parker lends Ethan her car so long as he promises to bring it back before she has to go to work. Ethan makes his way to his dad's house to visit him in hospice while it is discovered Parker has feelings for him.After getting into an argument with his sister, Sarah, at the foot of his dad's hospice bed, Ethan storms away and leaves. He begins to cry in Parker's car, being overcome with emotions, as he travels down the road and crashes the car into a tree. He awakes to find himself lost and confused and begins his journey to find his way back home.Wandering around aimlessly for hours, Ethan stumbles upon a mansion filled with bright lights and bumping music. He walks in to find a mysterious vibe looming throughout the halls and rooms. After looking around and passing everyone in the house, he is met by the host, Malik, who is intriguing enough for Ethan to follow back to his bedroom where the two engage in sexual deviancy.Ethan flees from Malik's mansion after having an exploratory conversation about himself with the promiscuous host and continues on his journey.Ethan is picked up on the side of the road by a stranger, Gene, who graciously takes him to his best friend, Parker's, place of work, "The Lounge." All the while, Sarah and Stephanie receive word from the hospice nurse that John is progressively getting worse.Ethan is dropped off at The Lounge and goes inside to inform Parker of her wrecked car, to which she does not take well and leaves Ethan.After going home, Parker takes off her jewelry and sees a picture of her and Ethan, causing her to become emotional. She takes off her wig and looks at herself in the bathroom mirror, reflecting on the time when her and Ethan were romantically together, the time Ethan broke her heart.Days later, Ethan and Sarah are sitting with their father when he suddenly wakes up from his coma and tells them how much he's missed them and loves them. John abruptly erupts into a coughing fit, spitting up blood and wheezing. The nurse rushes in to try and save their dad but is too late and John passes away right in front of Ethan and Sarah. Stephanie walks in and seems to not care much, causing Ethan to burst into anger and punch his mother in the face then leaves.Parker stops by Ethan's house three days later to console him in his time of grief.At John's grave site, Stephanie attempts to poke at Ethan's emotions but is met with her brother, Rick, who Ethan hasn't seen since he was a child. Rick says his greetings to everyone then approaches Ethan. After touching his arm, Ethan remembers the time his dad came in and saved him from his uncle, causing him to hyperventilate and leave the grave site.Ethan drives to The Lounge after calming himself down to see if Parker would like to go back to her place. After she gets off of work, the two friends go back to her house where they finally succumb to their own desires and have sex.Afterwards, Parker reveals to Ethan she is still in love with him to which Ethan reveals he doesn't feel the same way, causing the two to lash out at one another. Ethan storms out as Parker has an emotional breakdown, having her heart broken yet again by her best friend.Ethan finally decides it time to leave and packs his bag to head out in the morning. After leaving, he feels guilty about the previous night and turns around to make amends with Parker.Ethan arrives at Parker's house where she is cold and short with him. He tells her he's leaving but doesn't want to go if this is how they leave one another. The two friends make up and Parker sends Ethan on his way, becoming sad but proud of her friend.As Ethan makes his way down the road, he looks over at his passenger seat where he placed a small box of possessions, including a picture of him and his dad. He looks at the picture and smiles as he drives off to start his new life.
