Synopsis

Rhea belongs to the 10% of women with unexplained infertility. Abhijeet, her husband, does not seem to share her obsession for a child, though he suggests both assisted reproduction and adoption as alternatives. But she is not interested as everybody looks at her with sympathy, she has reached a point where she just wants her own child! The atmosphere in the house becomes cold and distant. Dr. Deb, a psychoanalyst, hypnotizes Rhea and reveals that she has piled-up karmic debts from her previous life, answers to which, do not lie in medical science. The doctor suggests them to meet Blue Skies, a Norwegian shaman in town, who could probably have a solution. Abhijeet is skeptical. Vivek, a guitarist, and a new neighbor enters Rhea's life. They get friendly and Rhea starts to open up to Vivek about her life.

A reluctant Blue Skies confesses that she has left shamanic practices, after, she was ditched by Rain Forest, her lover, and father of her child. She is willing to help Rhea after considering her dwindling finances and sympathizing with Rhea's wretched condition. She hands over a few voodoo items that are to be kept away from everyone's eyes especially Abhijeet. Rhea learns that Vivek has been brought up by his single mother, as his father deserted them when he was seven. Despite this shortcoming in his life, Vivek appears to be a well-sorted and calm individual. Unknown to Abhijeet, Blue Skies, works on Rhea through a few sessions. She cleanses Rhea's womb through spiritual intervention and performs the main ritual that includes a child sacrifice! Blue Skies is now confident that Rhea can conceive. She wants Rhea to have sex with Abhijeet and proclaim vociferously that she is pregnant. She, however, cautions Rhea that she might face some negativity in the house. In the meantime, Abhijeet discovers through a few voodoo items in the house, that Rhea has been seeing Blue Skies. He does not confront Rhea, though she immediately learns of his discovery. As a result, relations get more awkward between the two, and there is only the barest exchange of words. Rhea discovers that Abhijeet already has a son. He confesses that it is from his previous affair which was before marriage and points out that he has been faithful in this marriage, though not sure of her, alluding to her closeness with Vivek. Rhea visits Blue Skies as she guiltily realizes that she is the one who is not capable of becoming a mother as Abhijeet already has a child! Blue Skies gives her a jar of Ayahuasca, a psychoactive drug used for ceremonial and recreational purposes. She feels that it will relax them both. However, she cautions that if drunk in excess, the drug can be fatal.

All the 4 characters, Rhea, Abhijeet, Blue Skies and Vivek introspect their lives and realize that they are undergoing intense feelings of incompleteness and indescribable void and are forced to face their deepest insecurities!

Rhea deliberately adds more Ayahuasca in Abhijeet's glass, as she feels that it will help him relax further. For the first time, Rhea & Abhijeet are together as they accept each other. They indulge in a very pure and romantic dance. Rhea goes to sleep peacefully. Abhijeet comes out for a smoke. When he returns, he gets inspired to stub his cigarette into the voodoo doll as he feels that things are getting better between him and Rhea. Soon, Abhijeet dreams of him being sacrificed by Blue Skies in a cult ritual. Next morning, Rhea tries to wake him up, but to her shock he is dead. The plant pot that she has been watering daily, shows signs of germination.

Completely devastated, just one thing comes to her mind, were those sacrifices worth or did it make her life more VOID?
