Higher Artistic and Technical Workshops (Vkhutemas) are the cradle of the Russian avant-garde. The documentary series aims to rehabilitate the forgotten educational institution and the geniuses who graduated from it. In the 1930s, the memory of the workshops was destroyed under the motto "Fight against formalism". Each episode of the project is devoted to a specific period of the Vkhutemas's formation - from the prerequisites for the creation, considered in a historical and political context, to the destruction of the workshops in 1930. The series is based on unique video and photo archives, interviews with leading experts in the field of the Russian avant-garde, historians, and heirs.
