A deranged, misogynistic killer assaults a journalist. When he discovers that she survived the attack, he follows her to the hospital to finish her off.
The famous television anchor Deborah Ballin discusses the case of the abused woman Janet Macklyn, who killed her husband in self-defense, with his attorney Porter Halstrom that won the case since Macklyn's public defense lawyer was inexperienced. Ballin promises to hire an experienced lawyer to defend Macklyn and take her out of the prison. Her attitude triggers the racist and misogynist Colt Hawker, who has trauma from his childhood when his mother burnt the face of his beloved father, and he unsuccessfully tries to kill Ballin. She goes to the County General Hospital and befriends the nurse Sheila Munroe, where she is submitted to a surgery. However, Colt proceeds in his crime spree, killing other patients and endangering Sheila's family while looking for Ballin.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
