Summaries

The documentary dramatization Vincenz Priessnitz is a story of the man to whom water offered up its secrets. Priessnitz was seriously wounded at age 16, but was able to heal himself through intuition and close observation of nature. In 1822 he founded the world's first hydropathic institute in Austrian Silesia, which gained great renown within only twenty years. In addition to the thousands of ordinary people he cured, he also treated rulers and many outstanding personalities. Unfortunately, he also had to confront superstition, fear, intrigue, and envy.—Ceskatelevize.cz
