Synopsis

It's an ordinary day at John The News Network; John The News Haycock reads the news and John The Weather Haycock does the weather. That was until famous radio star John The Hat Haycock is asked to make a video about going outside, something he has never done before. He is then found dead. Back at the studio, John The News Haycock gets word of a major incident happening with an unknown impact to the economy and sends John The Field Reporter Haycock to investigate. He gets slapped by a man he thought was a police officer and tackles a pupil but finds no further information despite his ability to smell the news. The next day the news breaks that the John The King and John The Vice King Haycock are kidnapped. At the personal request of his half-brother and Prime Minister Victor Ideo, John The Detective Haycock arrives at the crime scene of John The Hat Haycock and meets forensic investigator Turtleneck who has determined the cause of death as death by video wave. Turtleneck suggests one suspect but he has an alibi. John suspects a big conspiracy given the numerous deaths of radio stars and asks Turtleneck to check the CCTV. However, Turtleneck deletes the footage at the order of Prime Minister Victor Ideo but is then killed by Victor's hitman. At Turtleneck's funeral, Victor introduces John to his new partner David Good. There is a foreshadowing of a radio star convention where thousands of radio stars will be in the same room. After a few months, John and David, who has since become a Russion national with the new name of Ivan Ivanovksi Ivananovich but sometimes still referred to as David, have tracked down Turtleneck's Scottish cousin who knows the location of the king and vice king. After running into John The Assassin Haycock, they pay him and are told to go to Milliennium Park, Pakistan. John and Ivan tell this to the Prime Minister who then dispatches his hitman to kill the king and vice king. They arrive just in time but are too late to stop the king being killed who reveals that it was actually Victor Ideo who kidnapped him and killed the vice king because he was an ex-radio star. Meanwhile, John The Field reporter Haycock is interviewing the Prime Minister who is denying accusations that he is trying to control the media by assuming the positions of the missing king and vice king. Victor then gets his hitman to arm the V-Day device but John The Detective Haycock ambushes him just in time. However, John fails to prove he is a human in order to defuse it and a videoactive missile hits the radio star convention killing them all. Having failed every assignment and nearly every character deceased, John and Ivan prepare to take on Victor in the final battle. Ivan is then killed. John then gains the high ground and kills Victor. In reflection, John The Detective Haycock realises that his purpose all along was to defend free access to media and rebrands himself as John The Internet Haycock.
