Years after Hussin's schoolmate Wahab is spurned by Rahimah, a resentful Wahab takes his revenge through malicious lies slandering Rahimah and Hussin, Rahimah's new brother-in-law. Their family suffers in the resultant consequences, and in the present, Hussin retells the circumstances leading to his suicide attempt, deemed a criminal offense in Singapore.
