A fisherman finds a little girl in a net on the shore of a beach. His life is going to change.

The "Captain", a sailor with a controversial past and a really aggressive nature, lives alone in a remote hut in a lagoon near Venice, where he has voluntarily isolated himself for many years. His only relationships with the community of fishermen are Manuel, a boy considered a bit silly by all and Giona, a "carabiniere" whose manners are a bit eccentric, who has become very close to him. The mysterious finding of a young girl, Velma, entangled in a net on the shore of a beach and the difficult relationship that begins between the two is about to change completely the life of the Captain, until a symbolic and cathartic epilogue.—Anonymous
