Thomas is sent to a crisis centre for teenagers where he meets Marianne and Terje. The trio share a common dream of a better future and embark on a journey where nobody ends up where they planned to be, but everybody finds a home.

After witnessing his mother being beaten up, Thomas is sent to a young people's refuge. No one will tell him where his brother is, and Thomas vows to find him. At the refuge, he meets Marianne, who is always screwing up, and Terje, who seems like he's from another planet altogether.
