1949. Against the backdrop of rugged, mountainous Epirus, shortly after the defeat of the Democratic Army of Greece during the Greek Civil War, Vasiliki, a communist sympathizer, has a fateful encounter with Leonidas, a burly police sergeant. As the love-smitten officer gives in to lust under volatile circumstances, a dangerous, forbidden affair begins to bloom, putting the mismatched clandestine couple in harm's way.
