Synopsis

Ramvilas Sharma (Vinay Pathak) has just ended his live-in relationship with his girlfriend Sanjana Mahadik (Mahie Gill). His office colleague (Kurush Deboo) consoles Ramvilas and asks him to move on from the relationship.Sanjana calls Ramvilas at his office and says that she is coming by to pick her stuff up. Ramvilas is livid at Sanjana's attitude but is powerless to stop her.

Ramvilas' detective friend Nandu (Saurabh Shukla) sets him up with Koel Datta (Mona Singh), who has also ended her relationship with her boyfriend after finding out that he was cheating on her. Nandu found Mona is a bar, all sad, and started talking to her.Nandu invites Ramvilas to the bar, and then sets up Koel with Ramvilas, without letting him know that Nandu had already spoken to Koel and convinced her accept a dinner date with his friend Ramvilas.Koel is shy but tries to take advantage by ordering the most expensive whiskey and food on the menu. Koel is also very sensitive and starts crying when she feels that Ramvilas made a casual remark about her ordinary appearance. Nandu had left after introducing Koel to Ramvilas, so he had no option but to deal with her.After the initial bitterness, Ramvilas and Koel share an ice cream on Marine Drive.

Koel doesn't have a place to stay, and Ram is forced to offer her a place to live in his own apartment. Koel and Ram trade stories of their respective love and betrayal.However, Sanjana reaches Ram's apartment that very night to pick her remaining items and thereby forces Koel to leave Ram's apartment. Koel tells Ramvilas that Sanjana is back as she still has feelings for him, and hence she does not want to be part of a love triangle.Koel admits that she could be wrong and asks Ramvilas to call her if she is.

Unknown to Ram, Sanjana is having an affair with gangster Lucky Sardana (Vinay Pathak). When Sanjana realizes that Lucky is using 5 Crores of his wife's money (from her trust fund established by her father) to buy a flat for his wife, Nimmi (Delnaaz Paul), she absconds with the money. Lucky has convinced Nimmi that the flat will cost Rs 5 Crores, when actually it will cost only 2.5 Crores, and he plans to pocket the rest.

Sanjana decides to take Nandu's help in recovering her passport from Ram's place so that she can leave the country with the money. Sanjana wanted the key to Ram's flat, but Nandu was smart. He knew that Sanjana used to run many scams as a bar dancer. He presses Sanjana to reveal the scam this time, as he does not want Ram to get into any trouble. Nandu knows that Sanjana is with Lucky, who is a known gangster. Nandu can also guess that Sanjana is running away and that's why she needs her passport. But this requires money. This way Nandu deduces that Sanjana has stolen money from Lucky.Nandu and Sanjana enter Ram's apartment, and shortly thereafter Ram enters the apartment. Sanjana uses this opportunity to go back to Nandu's car (as he was hiding in a different room) and switch the money. She then returns to the apartment and hides in her original spot. While Nandu calls Ram and asks him to come to the Polo club to meet a girl (as in the beginning of the movie). When Ram leaves, Nandu and Sanjana leave as well.

However, Nandu decides to return the money to Lucky, as he doesn't want to have anything to do with Lucky's money. He returns the bag to Lucky not realizing that Sanjana has switched the bags and has hidden the money at Ram's place, while she was retrieving her passport.

Now Lucky & his goons Bolu (Sanjay Mishra) & Dolu (Brijendra Kala) believe that Nandu is trying to take them for a ride. Nandu runs away from Lucky's office and goes to meet Ram at the bar (as at the beginning of the movie). But Bolu and Golu had Nandu's phone and when Ram called, they knew that Nandu was headed to the Polo club. They kidnap him from the restroom & want to know where the money is. While Sanjana wants to retrieve the money from Ram's apartment.

Lucky reaches Ram's apartment when he is out with Koel and finds Sanjana there looking for the money. He takes Sanjana back to his office, where Nandu is also being tortured by Bolu & Dolu. Lucky is livid when neither would give him the location of the money & is about to shoot them both when Nimmi arrives suddenly. Sanjana takes advantage of the situations and leaves (by introducing herself as Lucky's lawyer) & takes Nandu with her, saying she needs a driver to drop her.

Nandu takes Sanjana to the airport and hands over her passport to her, thanking her for the escape. She still doesn't reveal the location of the money to Nandu. Nandu reaches Ram's home where Ram is depressed about Koel leaving. Nandu realizes that Koel has left with the bag with all the money in it. Ram calls her number and finds that the number does not even exist.

Then suddenly Koel walks back into Ram's apartment and admits that she had stolen the money from Ram's apartment, but then felt that there was no difference between her boyfriend (who cheated on her) and herself (as she cheated on Ram). So, she came back with the money.

Nandu has an idea and decides to return half the money to Lucky via a corrupt police officer and splits the remaining money with him. Lucky is unable to do anything to the officer and plus since the apartment he was purchasing was anyways for 2.5 Crores, his plans of making 2.5 Crores on the deal are a non-starter.
