Untold History - Weapons of War explores the silenced and marginalised parts of history.
The first series of Untold History - Weapons of War focuses on the personal histories of war, with a focus on the troubling weapons deployed during the Second World War. It is these weapons, and their impact on societies around the world, that provide a lens through which the human experience of war can be explored. Episode 1 tells the story of Joe Kennedy Jr, the older brother of JFK, who was meant to be destined for the White House. Instead, Joe died testing new drone technologies whilst trying to defend London. Episode 2 explores the novel history of the cluster bomb and its first use on civilians. The Untold History team travel to the North of England to hear from those who survived the first use of this weapon in 1943.—James Rogers (Writer, Producer, Presenter)
