Story of a young ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman who flees her arranged marriage and religious community to start a new life abroad.

The series follows a young woman brought up in an ultra-Orthodox community in Brooklyn's Williamsburg district who strikes out for Berlin, leaving behind an arranged marriage and tight-knit faith community in part to pursue her goal of discovering her path.

Esther Shapiro is a married 19-year-old girl who finds adapting to the Jewish way of life difficult, so she decides to leave and change the existence they forced her to live.
