Two solitary people meet each other and form a bond in the back country of the Gaspe peninsula.

Chantal is a secretive young girl. She lives with her sick mother and unemployed father. When her mother dies, she leaves the family home for the Gaspe peninsula. After wandering around for days, she runs out of money and finds refuge with Serge, a taciturn farmer, on his small farm in the back country. The natural landscape around her inspires Chantal to open up to the world and its beauty. Serge and Chantal gradually take to one another.—Anonymous
