Summaries

One night, Genjiro Tsurumi (Kinya Kitaoji), a former samurai living a carefree life as a ronin in a tenement house, comes across a man being attacked by a group of men dressed in black. The dying man is an official secret agent, carrying a secret letter addressed to "Matsudaira". Genjiro meets with General Matsudaira Ukon (Tarumi Goro), who informs him of the existence of a mysterious group, the Hachitake Party, which aims to overthrow the Shogunate, and brings him to the company of his personal servant, Matsudaira Kamisamori (Ishibashi Renji). .
