Driven to turn his country's fortunes around, Kim San crosses paths with Pak Doochill, a shady fixer who adapts quickly to any situation; together, the pair form an uneasy alliance.

Set in the early 1960's, a story that depicts the friendship and desires of Sam-Sik and Kim San. Kim San graduated from the Korean military academy and then went to the United States to study economics at a university.
