After surviving the death of a newborn child and losing the opportunity to have children of her own, 39-year-old Tatyana Sukhova, a former psychotherapist and now the wife of a "new Russian", creates her own small clinic for the adoption of orphans. Overcoming many obstacles, despite problems in her personal life, Tatyana, together with her former classmates - the brilliant pediatrician Shurik Uglov and the geneticist Igor Golubovsky, who has many children - helps orphans and childless spouses find and fall in love with each other.
