Young Tyler decides to stay up late one Halloween night, and watch a spooktacular spook-a-thon consisting of old horror films. Little did he know that at the stroke of midnight, strange things would happen...
Late one stormy night, on the eve Halloween, Tyler decides to stay up and enjoy a Late Night Halloween Special on television. Being that it's so late, Tyler has trouble keeping his eyes open. Tyler falls asleep as the clock hits 12:00 A.M., but he's quickly awakened by the crackling sounds of lightning outside. At this point, Tyler decides that he can no longer keep his eyes open, and he goes to bed. As he lay in bed, falling asleep, he hears a creaking noise coming from his closet. It continues to creak until Tyler decides to open his eyes and look. The sound immediately stops. Trying to see through the darkness, Tyler wonders what could have possibly been causing that sound. He stares at the closed closet door attentively. Nothing happens. Tyler decides to shrug it off and go back to sleep. Theres an action figure placed on Tylers desk near the window, and every time lightning strikes, it casts a shadow on the wall next to Tylers bed. Suddenly as lightning strikes again, the shadow appears to be moving towards Tyler, as if attempting to grab him. As if he can feel it, Tyler opens his eyes and looks directly at this action figure. Nothing is out of the ordinary. The action figure is right where Tyler left it.
All of a sudden, he hears the loud creaking of the closet door opening. Tyler looks again at the closet door, but this time he actually sees something. It appears as if the door is slowly opening. He can clearly hear the creaking of the door, and see the shadow of the door growing larger as it opens wider. Beginning to become paranoid, he turns on the small lamp next to his bed. He looks back at the closet door, and its closed. Nothing out of the ordinary. Tyler sits motionless, staring at the door. No sign of anything out of the ordinary happening. Tyler then decides that it was all in his imagination. He turns off the light and tries to go back to sleep. Suddenly, as if he had seen a ghost, Tylers eyes fling open wide. He looks directly at the action figure, only to realize that its not there anymore. He looks around the room, and finds the toy on the floor, near the now slightly opened closet door. A hand slowly inches out of the closet. Its fingers long and frail, darkened by the light-less room. Petrified with fear, Tyler is unable to move. The hand slowly reaches for the toy. Tyler frantically tries to turn on the light, but he knocks over the lamp, and falls to the ground, shattering in to pieces. In disbelief, Tyler looks back towards the closet, only to partially see a strange looking creature emerging. A lightning strike lights up the entire room, but in that flash, the closet door is now wide open, and the creature is nowhere in sight. Tyler takes a thorough look around the room, but cannot find the creature at all. As he checks the side of his bed, the creature slowly emerges from behind Tyler. Another flash of lightning strikes and Tyler wakes up on the couch.
The time goes from 12:00 A.M. to 12:01 A.M. Tyler realizes that he had been dreaming all along, and had actually never gone to bed. After this realization, hes able to calm himself down. But Tyler isn't able to completely shake the feeling that some part of that dream was real. He looks down the darkened hallway that leads to his room, questioning whether or not it was actually a dream.
