"Trompie en die Boksombende" is a boys' adventure series featuring Trompie Toerein and his three pals Blikkies, Rooie and little Dawie. Together they're known as the Boksombende in the picturesque little town of Kwaggaberg.

In the first episode the Dominee brings home a pet baboon called Kees and Trompie and his three pals decide to get a bit closer acquainted. They steal the baboon from the reverend's back yard, but the baboon, getting chased by a pack of dogs, gets loose and runs into the local church. Meanwhile, Trompie's older sister Anna, gets quite a lot of attention from the town glamour boy with a shiny car. Trompie doesn't like the fellow and decides to play a trick on him.—bcarruthers-76500
