Melissa learns that her new husband Kevin is a philanderer with no ambition. The two become roommates from hell while Kevin remains in the house until the divorce is finalized, but when he turns up dead, all eyes are on Melissa.
A guy named Cameron stares at a co-worker named Melissa. He asks her to dinner, but she shoots him down nonchalantly.
Melissa is assaulted in the parking lot. A handsome stranger, Kevin, saves her, and Melissa asks how she can ever repay him. Kevin asks her out on a date.
Kevin isn't a good guy and paid the mugger to target Melissa so he could meet her, fall in love, and marry her.
One year later, Kevin and Melissa live together and are missing the spark already. Her co-workers, Mary Ann and Cameron notice the new marriage is already coming apart at the seams.
A woman named Quinn shows up to confront Kevin at his restaurant, demanding money she invested in his sommelier endeavors and opening a wine bar, and gives him 72 hours to come up with the cash.
Kevin is preoccupied with his restaurant work and spending time with the neighbor girl, Grace. He got her a job as a hostess. Kevin eventually seduces Grace as a ploy to get to her mother Lauren's money.
In the middle of the night, a bookie named Clyde breaks into Melissa and Kevin's house to get the money that Kevin owes him. He waves a pocket knife around while explaining everything to Melissa, who is terrified. Then Melissa gets angry because she also loaned Kevin money.
Melissa cuts Kevin off and ends their relationship. The only trouble is Kevin refuses to leave and gaslights her. The couple gets into an argument in the front yard, and Grace calls the police. Cameron shows up to console his co-worker and hide his very obvious feelings for her. They head to Pittsburg for a work trip and leave Kevin to play house with Grace.
Grace's mother, Lauren, disapproves of her sleeping with the neighbor's husband. It apparently isn't the first time Grace has slept with a married man.
Kevin goes from money trouble loser to killer after he syringes Quinn in a parking lot after telling him his 72 hours are up and she needs the money.
When Melissa returns, he demands 20% of her business or liquid cash for him to leave their "marriage home." Melissa is outraged.
Then Kevin turns up dead. Hikers found his body in the woods, and Melissa is the number one suspect. Melissa shares everything she knows about Clyde, the bookie, and Kevin's money problems. She explains a lot of people had it out for Kevin.
Melissa cries to her co-workers, who basically tell her to calm down. Then Melissa realizes that Kevin and Grace could have been having an affair and asks some people at the restaurant about it, who confirm the romance.
Detectives find a button next to the body, and it belongs to Grace. Melissa notices a sweater and tells the detectives about her suspicions. They question Lauren about her daughter.
While Grace is home alone, Melissa stops by to talk. Grace isn't interested and smashes her neighbor in the head with a saucepan. Lauren helps her daughter tie Grace up, and they hold her at gunpoint in her own house.
Grace has a flashback to when she murdered Kevin, who couldn't care less about ANYTHING.
Cameron and Mary Ann stop by Melissa's house because they are worried. Cameron gets there first and finds Melissa held at gunpoint by Lauren. Grace ties him up too and argue about what to do next.
Mary Ann comes to the house next and distracts Lauren and Grace long enough for Melissa to make her move and get the gun. Mary Ann calls 911 while Lauren and Melissa struggle over the gun. Grace grabs the gun and shoots her mother by accident, killing her.
"It's over," Melissa says as the police pull up. (thanks to lifetimeuncorked)
