The main characters of the film are a young woman, Jadwiga, who earns her living by feeding lice at the Institute, and a Dalek who escaped from the ghetto, and later his alleged sister, or rather his wife, Fryd, whom Jadwiga gave shelter in her apartment. The three heroes fight for life, for survival, and not only for their own lives, but also for Fryda's unborn child. However, they fail to do so, and a series of tragic events occur. Fryda, knowing that her Dalek husband will not reveal the truth about them to Jadwiga, who is in love with him, does it herself and leaves without saying goodbye to the fighting ghetto.
