Throughout the series popular songs of old composers (Vamvakaris, Tsitsanis, Papaioanou, Mouflouzelis, etc.) are heard. The series is set in the port of Piraeus and Athens of 1930. The story covers 50 years in 26 episodes so it often moves quickly to cover ground.—Odysseas Ladopoulos
